If you are a Native Oswegan, you probably know about our city's rich history involving Peacocks. Mountain Park, before it
was a housing development, was once known as "Peacock Hill" and the builders drove its namesakes down into Lake
Grove to make way for progress.
What you might not know is that there are PeaCocks, PeaHens, PeaChicks, and even PeaEggs.
Our bustling cat house is located in Lake Grove and my husband and I have our own rich personal history with peacocks.
We have felt a karmic, cosmic connection to PeaFowl even since we first began courting in 1995. It has been an eerily recurring
theme for us (I won't bore you with every detail) including the night Cory proposed to me... I looked down at the napkin ring
in the restaurant where we were dining and on it was the ever familiar peacock. I knew right then it was destiny.

In working to come up with an appropriate PAWSWEGO logo, an emblem, a company mascot, I really wanted a symbol which married
my deep love of nature, my sense of kismet, and my passion for cats.
That is when The PAWSWEGO "PeaCat" was born... in my mind.
Holly's Mother, Debra Dudley, a well-respected painter, sculptor, potter, and jewelery designer was assigned the task
of bringing this Mythical Creature to life! When she first presented the completed painting to me, I felt a sense of awe,
as if I were looking at an angel who looks out over all of the Oswegan Cats who are in my care. I couldn't imagine a more
perfect symbol for my labor of love.
